Are VET diplomas the next big thing?

Everyone these days agrees that the economy needs more people with qualifications and that those already with qualifications need to extend their education and training. One element of this is a policy push for an increase in delivery of VET diplomas. But a newly released paper from the National Centre for Vocational Education Research suggests that we need to be careful about the second part of this policy imperative.
