By: AMANDA SMITH https://www.campusreview.com.au/2020/08/researchers-reverse-memory-decline-in-mice-in-ground-breaking-alzheimers-trial/#comment-89089 Mon, 03 Aug 2020 06:00:03 +0000 https://www.campusreview.com.au/?p=102595#comment-89089 While I’m excited to hear about this research, and give my respect to the scientists involved, their incredibly hard work, dedication and innovation, I’m very disappointed in this sentence: “Two scientists at Macquarie University have discovered a revolutionary way to treat and cure Alzheimer’s disease, the leading cause of death for women and the second leading cause of death of all Australians.” It’s very misleading – they have not found a cure for Alzheimer’s, they have had some success in trials with mice. As a university related publication, you should be ashamed at raising false hopes such as this and providing such misleading tag lines in news stories.
